Final After Effects Project

Well this was my final project in After Effects and the class in general.  The last video I wanted to upload turns out the file size was too large to post here.  So if your interested in that one let me know basically what I did was took 2 Mr. Game and Watch and created one with a knife chasing another one while he's ringing a bell.  Once the two of them exit the stage (yep I set it on a kind of Broadway type stage adding some things too the background of course) I had the curtain come up and you see an ambulance.  The ambulance drives off and then 2 other guys (who I believe are firemen depending on how you see it) holding a sheet go running after the 2 Mr. Game and Watch.  Meanwhile in the background I added horror movie music, knife stabbing sounds and the ambulance siren!

So for this last project (shown above) we had to create text all in After Effects, no photoshop allowed.  Our instructions were simple: take a movie quote or song lyric and add text to it!  So I had to choose Want you Gone from the end of Portal 2 with GLADOS!  Enjoy this one.  I worked hard all semester on these projects.

Dragon Wings

This project was about starting to animate other things besides a car tire that simply spins around.  So we were able to take an image that we wanted and make it appear to be doing something.  For me that meant finding a picture of a dragon and making the wings flap.  She also told us to add sound so I added the Dragon roar and the sound of the wings flapping.  I found that this was kind of an easy exercise and if I had a little more time I might have gotten the tail the flap around as well.

Poker Count Down

This video we were told that we needed to countdown from 10 with sound effects in between and how we accomplished this was up to us.  So I chose a simple Poker table in which the cards would countdown from 10 to the Ace of Spades.  I was going to originally go another direction with it, using Steampunk elements but it would have taken me far too long and I was struggling to come up with a good concept with it anyway so I scraped it for the Poker Table which I felt worked out well in the long run anyway.

Car Movie

So this was my very first After Effects movie.  Basically she wanted us to create a car in photoshop and then animate it using After Effects.  The rendering and basically the whole process was very tricky.  In the long run as you watch the video the car is very rough which was fine since I'm not really an artist and I added a moon in the background, the road, the ducks crossing and the duck crossing sign. 

Red vs. Blue mod

So for those of you that like Red vs. Blue which is a very funny series about Halo, I did Sarge and Simmons with the Jinx logo in the cloud.  I thought it was pretty funny myself and I love the series.  It was a fairly simple tweak.  Everything else from here will be After Effects projects.
